How SA Travelcations collects, uses, shares and protects personal information.

We only ask for what we need to plan your journey, share it only with the suppliers delivering it, and keep it no longer than we should — in line with POPIA.

7

Legal Grounds for Processing

Depending on the circumstances, we process information because it is necessary to provide a requested service or perform a contract, comply with a legal obligation, pursue a legitimate business purpose that does not unjustifiably prejudice you, protect a legitimate interest, or because you have given consent.

You may withdraw consent where consent is the applicable basis, without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

8

Sharing Information with Suppliers

To arrange a journey, we may share relevant information with independent service providers, including hotels, transport providers, drivers, guides, tour and activity operators, payment providers, website and technology providers, professional advisers and other suppliers reasonably necessary to deliver the requested service.

We aim to share only what is reasonably necessary. Third-party suppliers may also process information under their own privacy notices and legal duties.

9

Cross-Border Transfers

Some travellers, suppliers or technology providers may be outside South Africa. Where information is transferred across borders, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that the transfer is permitted and that appropriate protection is in place.

10

Payment Information

Online payments may be processed by an independent payment service provider. The provider's terms and privacy practices will apply. SA Travelcations does not store complete payment-card details unless a compliant and appropriately secured system is implemented.

11

Direct Marketing

We may send information about packages, offers and travel experiences where you have consented or where communication is otherwise permitted by law. You may opt out at any time by using an unsubscribe option, replying "STOP" where applicable or contacting us.

Opting out of marketing does not stop essential communications about an active enquiry or booking.

12

Cookies and Analytics

Our website may use essential cookies and, with appropriate notice or choice, analytics or advertising technologies. These tools may help the website function, remember preferences, measure performance and improve marketing.

13

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the information and risks involved. These may include controlled access, secure passwords, reputable service providers, backups and secure transmission. No online system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

14

Security Compromises

Where there are reasonable grounds to believe that personal information has been accessed or acquired by an unauthorised person, we will take reasonable steps to contain and assess the incident and make required notifications to the Information Regulator and affected persons as soon as reasonably practicable, subject to applicable law.

15

Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, the delivery of travel services, legal and tax recordkeeping, dispute resolution and legitimate business protection. Information that is no longer required will be securely deleted, destroyed or de-identified where appropriate.

16

Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask whether we hold information about you, request access, request correction or deletion where appropriate, object to certain processing, withdraw consent, opt out of direct marketing or lodge a complaint. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

17

Photographs and Testimonials

We will not use identifiable customer photographs or testimonials for marketing without appropriate permission. Permission may be recorded electronically. A customer may contact us about future use, subject to material already lawfully produced or published.

18

Our website may link to supplier or social-media websites. We do not control the privacy practices of external websites and encourage you to review their notices.
